My Vision to Space
My vision is "to break barrier to advance our knowledge, technology and make social advances for all humanity"by shifting the focus of technology-driven space missions towards understanding the greatest challenges of humankind and introduce space to enable a revolutionary solution.
A new space age has emerged due to an increased access to space made possible by new launch service providers, launch vehicles, new space system technologies and international partnerships. Small satellite technologies have revolutionised not only space exploration but also Earth observation, biomedicine, microbiology, astrobiology, and quantum experiments, to name a few. Such a democratisation of space has occurred based on the low cost of CubeSat systems.
The UK is currently in the utmost privileged position. The UK has an end-to-end offer for space enterprises, a renowned science and technology sector, leading satellite manufacturing and operations facilities, and a new launch capability from 2022. However, to exploit our talent and resources and succeed in the space sector it’s imperative that Academia, Industry and Government work together.
